The influence of the chemical elements (carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen) and chemical compounds (lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose) on the calorific value was considered. WebThe percentage free carbon of the briquettes ranged from 18- 25%, the calorific value ranged from 3418-3689cal/g. The results attained shows that sawdust and waste paper mixture has good combustion characteristics which qualify them as alternative to firewood for industrial and commercial energy.
